Jack Russell Terriers are a type, or strain, of working terrier; they are not pure bred in the sense that they have a broad genetic make-up, a broad standard, and do not breed true to type. This is a result of having been bred strictly for hunting since their beginning in the early 1800’s, and their preservation as a working breed since. The broad standard, varied genetic background based on years of restricted inbreeding and wide outcrossing, and great variety of size and type, are the major characteristics that make this strain of terrier known as a Jack Russell such a unique, versatile working terrier.

Those look more like Parsons to me, lovely dogs either way
Very cute dogs, please check out my Jack Russel here too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4U8kY67tG0
I've got a jack Russell myself, her name is Millie I made a good choice of picking a jack Russell, Millie has small legs and mucsles. Millie is all white with a Brown pact around her eye and brown, black, sandy brown on her tale with a white tip
Great Video. Pound for pound, I personally have yet to see a tougher or better hunting dog. Amazing breed!
Wow…. I must apologize for thinking that the lady speaking was Jane Goodall of chimpanzee fame…. at least I know she knows and loves her animals as well… I just got a JRT… and he is just like me: "Too Smart For Our Own Good"…. yay!?
Love my jack russel. Great dog.
We hv just got a 2 month old puppy home and just fits the description in the video… superb Xmas addition to our family
If I had a Jackie I’d have it as a dock diving dog
I have a Jack Russell mix, I always joke that when we wake up in the morning, he “clocks in” for the day because it always seems like he’s on duty to either sit at the front window and bark and squirrels and rabbits, sniff around every corner of the house as if he’s trying to sniff out bombs, or sitting on my lap looking around to make sure no one kidnaps me in my living room. He keeps it up till about 7 pm, when he “clocks out” and then zonks out on the couch for the night.
My first 2 JR ladies lived to 17 and 18. I have rather foolishly bought another one of the bloody things. They get under your skin.
Iv had two JRT. A 10inch Male. A 15 inch female….I think I prefer the female's. Both where great dogs. My female just had more of a spark…she was so intelligent it just amazed me..
I have a rescued Jack Russell/ Yorkie mix. She has the coloring of a Yorkie but the rest is pure Jack Russell. She is like a tank: she runs through anything and prances around like she owns the world. I named her Tank and she lives up to the JR reputation. Full of spit and vinegar. I just adore her.
Schmoobly GOOBS!
I miss my guy. 🙂 wife replaced with a mini schnauzer….not the same. The hair thing ain’t worth it.
my JRT is 11 yrs old and he still digs up miles and snakes and brings them to me????
Thé highlight of my day is coming home from a slog on a building site and my Jack Russel going bonkers when she sees me! They truly are the best dogs.
Does anyone know the brand of ecollar they are using?
where to buy
My JRT got a big chest he is fiery too but a sweet baby too. We give him alot of exercise so we dont have to crate him. He can stay home alone and he will nap while we are out running errands. Thankfully I have a big yard for his zoomies my mom loves when he gets them
welp looks like everyones dog is dead
More on Jack Russel terrier… is it a family pet .? Young children at home
I think they are adorable but I would be concerned about the high energy and intelligence.. ie if it gets bored what will it do to my home?! I am older and don’t have energy I think
JRTs for 25 years! I've always thought I needed an easier breed! There's no other for me! I've bred, Shown at JRTCA trials , agility….couch potatoes, you name it, I love them all. Going into retirement I think I'm on my last 2……but who knows!
JRT's best dogs in the world. Energetic, intelligent, funny and loyal.
My first 2 JR ladies lived to 17 and 18. (Mollie and Forri)
After deciding to never get another dog again after losing my old girls, I went and bought another one! Bonnie, aged 1. They leave such a gap in your house once they are gone you have to get another one. You describe the breed better than anyone I have ever known and the way you equate the JR breed with the owners is sooooo true. I could easily get a Labrador or spaniel but a passive dog like that would not suit my family. We love the non stop random full on never ending fun that is a JR.
Hi there! I just wanted to share this video! Cheers! https://youtu.be/JIiy0H1ZLiw

I have a rescue Jack and Lab. Love my rescue fur babies. I'm getting older so when the time to adopt again comes, I'll be looking for a senior rescue
I am looking for one but so hard to find in south Florida
